As the Bobbin Winds Email Newsletter:  Volume 1:21:2014

Dearest Country Traditions Friends,

Can you believe that it is 2014 already? With the "NEW" Year, we have lots of "NEW" beginnings in store for you. Start celebrating by cleaning and organizing your sewing room or space. By going through your stashes, it will remind you of fabrics and projects you have bought and hopefully influence you to get them started and finished. You will also be more productive in a clean, open area. It's exciting to think about all the possibilities, projects, and creativity a New Year can bring us!  We have been very busy planning and preparing behind the scenes for a very exciting year for you!  Hold on to your rotary cutters!  It's going to be a fun filled year and you are not going to want to miss a thing!
If your life is like mine, 80% work, and 20% family, we've got something in common. With that being said, this year, I am vowing to relax more and take an hour a day to do things I like to do, like quilting and writing poetry, and you should too. In case you are not aware, January is National Hobby Month, so be sure and CELEBRATE what you like to do in your spare time. We would also like to challenge you to try something you never would have thought of doing. You never know, you may really enjoy it!

We have the 2014 1st Quarter Newsletter Posted on our website with several fun and exciting events, so be sure to check it out! This is the first edition of the "As The Bobbin Winds" E-mail newsletter and that means we have a "BRAND NEW" Web Sampler Bock-Of-The-Month called "You've Been Framed," designed by our very own Scott A. Flanagan.

We have classes, classes, and more classes this quarter! We kind of took a break last year from the quilt classes as we needed to re-evaluate our options. We are very happy to say that this quarter we are bringing you some brand new quilt projects and techniques yet we are still scheduling a few of our most popular classes.
It's January and that means it's inventory time! Please help us by checking out our "Out With The Old, In With The New," over in the sale area. We will be adding gifts, home decor items, and fabrics on a daily basis, so, keep checking in! The "PFAFF Winter Wonderland Of Savings" sales events. There are some awesome deals on fabric, notions, pre-cuts, gifts & home decor, and much, much, more. Come get it before it's gone! There are huge savings to take advantage of on PFAFF machines as well. If you have been thinking about getting a new embroidery machine, NOW is the time!

Don't forget to join us on Saturday, January 25th for "Visit Your Local Quilt Shop Day". We will be celebrating by giving away a $100 gift certificate to our store-just click here or ask one of our sales associates how you can get registered to win.

"You've Been Framed!"
2014's Web Sampler Block-Of-The-Month

Welcome to our 2014 Internet Block-of-the-Month Program. This is our gift to you for being such a loyal reader of our "As the Bobbin Winds" newsletter. As you know, the sampler block patterns for this quilt are only made available to the loyal readers of the "As the Bobbin Winds" Email newsletter.
Over the 12-month course, you will receive directions on how to construct (12) different framed blocks. They will start out easy and work their way up in difficulty as we progress throughout the year. In the last month, you will receive the directions for the final layout and finishing of this beautiful Web Sampler Quilt.
This particular project has been designed to be scrappy in nature, however, if you would like to purchase fabric to make yours, we have included suggested yardage with the first block pattern. We made our sample using batiks, but it would be beautiful and exciting to see it made up in any line of your choice...Kansas Troubles, Jo Mortons, or just some vibrant tonals would be lovely. Let your imagination be your guide. It will be sensational, no matter what fabric you choose.
"Broken Dishes"
Block #1
*Download your Web Sampler Block by clicking on the block name above and then print off the pattern if you like it. You need Adobe Reader installed with the latest version to open the PDF and print the pattern off.

***If you missed a past block, visit the Country Traditions On-Line Newsletter page for archived copies of past "As The Bobbin Winds" Email editions.
