My Dearest Country Traditions Friends,

Can you believe the Christmas holiday is upon us? It's hard to believe how fast time flies.  It just seems surreal as we we're decorating the store's fifteen plus themed Christmas trees, that this week is the first of December!  Listening to the wonderful Christmas music on the radio, as I sew on my latest project, with homemade gifts on the list this year, it can really help set the mood.  It really is the most wonderful time of the year!

In all the busyness of the season, we try to remind ourselves to keep the reason for the season in what we do. The enjoyment of decorating the house and tree with bright shinny ornaments, to putting the angel on top of the tree, and baking
cookies with the kids are some of the traditions that have a special place in our hearts.  And of course, as quilters, we have the tradition of finishing quilting projects and gifts before the man in red arrives.  Celebrating the traditions that bring us together and create memories that we will cherish for years to come, is what makes it the most wonderful time of the year.

Here at the store we too have our cherished holiday traditions starting with the Stuff Your Stocking Sales Event.  That's right, it's time to gather your Stockings and bring them in.  The Country Traditions Elves will help you fill them with quilter goodies, all 20% off.   There is still time to get a PFAFF under the tree as we still have some great speicals and pricing through the PFAFF Holiday Sale.  And Handi Quilter is offering 60 month Financing and Free Shipping.  It's going to be a great holiday season.

We have been collecting all kinds of goodies and treats for our Annual Class Holiday Affair Party.  It's time to gather up all your Class Cash and show-n-tell.  Join us as we catch up with fellow classmates and wish each other some Holiday Cheer.   There's always a good laugh or two as we bid on quilting items and spend our Class Cash.

We know you have been really good this year.  So just send in your Santa or Santa's helpers, as soon it will be the Just in the Nick of Time Sales Event.  The Elves will help them find just the right gifts for you under the tree, even if it's that Country Traditions Gift Certificate.

And maybe our most favorite part of the season is our Annual Customer Appreciation New Year Party.  We all look forward to that magical evening, sharing stories of the year past, and celebrating  our cherished customers and friends.  What great traditions we have to share.

We look forward to celebrating this season with you!  Until we do, May Your Bobbin Always Be Full!

Your Country Traditions' Friends

It's the most wonderful time of the year!

The great thing about the holiday season--beside the gifts!--is having the chance to spend valuable time with our loved ones, show our appreciation for one another and overall, give thanks.
How do you Create Holiday Cheer!

Holiday Traditions are important in every family, regardless of religion or how you choose to observe the holiday season.  They provide meaningful and cherished lifelong memories and so much more, an opportunity to spend quality time together.

Holiday traditions can be as simple as you make them: they can be a Christmas Eve family game night by the fire, decorating the Christmas tree together, or making Holiday treats for all God's creatures.   Below we've included some of our family's favorite ideas and fun activities for spending the holiday season together and creating holiday cheer.  Can you guess who celebrates which traditions?

We hope that this year's holidays brings your family much joy, love and overall plenty of fantastic meals and treasured time together.
Christmas Treats for Furry Friends
According to an old Norwegian holiday legend regarding the birth of Jesus Christ, God had granted the animals in the manager a voice to give their praise for the child's miracle birth.  Put a spin on this popular legend by leaving treats out for the neighborhood wildlife, pets and all of your favorite animal friends to give thanks during a time when food is scarce.  Fill a bird feeder,  decorate a special tree with edible treats like pine cones rolled in peanut butter, and popcorn garlands and/or even buy little gifts for neighborhood dogs and cats.

One Gift on Christmas Eve
We each get to open one gift on Christmas Eve.  Each gift contains new PJs (to wear that night, some times matching). Then as a family, we open the Family Christmas Eve Box.  The Christmas Eve Box contains a Christmas movie, hot chocolate mix and cups, and jiffy popcorn for the movie.  Everyone changes into their PJs, then settles under a quilt on the couch to snuggle and watch the movie as all wait for Santa to arrive.
Create Memories to Last a Lifetime Together
Purchase or make a Holiday Ornament for each family member every year.  Spend an afternoon together decorating the house and Christmas tree.  Set the mood with holiday music and cookies.  Enjoy reminiscing as you decorate together.

"You've Been Framed!"
2014's Web Sampler Block-Of-The-Month

Welcome to our 2014 Internet Block-of-the-Month Program. This is our gift to you for being such a loyal reader of our "As the Bobbin Winds" newsletter. As you know, the sampler block patterns for this quilt are only made available to the loyal readers of the "As the Bobbin Winds" Email newsletter.
Over the 12-month course, you will receive directions on how to construct (12) different framed blocks. They will start out easy and work their way up in difficulty as we progress throughout the year. In the last month, you will receive the directions for the final layout and finishing of this beautiful Web Sampler Quilt.
This particular project has been designed to be scrappy in nature, however, if you would like to purchase fabric to make yours, we have included suggested yardage with the first block pattern. We made our sample using batiks, but it would be beautiful and exciting to see it made up in any line of your choice...Kansas Troubles, Jo Mortons, or just some vibrant tonals would be lovely. Let your imagination be your guide. It will be sensational, no matter what fabric you choose.
