My Dearest Country Traditions Friends,

It is February... which is the month of love, and National Embroidery Month! Have you thought about how embroidery has come a long way in a short time?  It was not long ago embroidery was only done by hand, primarily on dish towels, pillowcases, and blocks for quilts.  Many of the projects were made with red thread for the classic red work or just a few different  colors. These creations were portable and great projects to wind down at the end of the day.  Fast forward to today.  The hand
The hand embroidery has expanded to hundreds of shades of colors to choose from.  The machine embroidery can embroider almost anything you can think of.  We see embroidery almost every place we go, from the newborn baby quilt to the mechanic's uniform.  The possibilities of projects are endless.   So, we encourage you to celebrate National Embroidery month by trying a new embroidery pattern or by coming into the store for a demonstration on one of our Pfaff Embroidery Machines.  We have select Pfaff Embroidery machines on sale this month with mail-in rebates up to $300.

We have several ways to share your love in the next few weeks!  Just in time for Valentine's Day, the Annual MainStreet of Fremont giant gourmet caramel apples are back.  You can purchase your sweetheart's apple here at Country Traditions on Friday, February 13th and Saturday February 14th while supplies remain.
What about sharing your love and talents of quilting with our Service Men and Women!?!  Register for the Quilts of Valor National Sewing Day on Friday, February 27 and Saturday, February 28.  Bring your quilting buddies and a quilting project to create a beautiful quilt for our brave heroes.  Register by Tuesday, February 24th to receive a $10.00 credit voucher to Country Traditions for the event.  Country Traditions will be providing a main dish for lunch each day of the retreat, so register today!

Everyone loves a good mystery or, at least a great mystery quilt!  Join Country Traditions in our March Mystery Quilt project.  There are 6 clues (pattern directions for the blocks) this year that you will be available to pick up every Monday beginning in March.  When you are done, you will have a beautiful quilt top ready for backing and binding.  This project is lots of fun, because you don't know until the last clue is completed what the quilt will look like.

The International Quilt Study Center & Museum will be celebrating National Quilting Day on Saturday, March 14, 2015.  There will be FREE admission, demonstrations, as well as several quilts on display for you to enjoy.  Embrace your talent and show your family your quilting passion by bringing them with you to visit the museum.

Now it is time to give yourself some love!   To celebrate National Quilting day March 21th, we will be hosting "You Know You Are A Quilter.." Retreat.  The retreat will be held Friday, March 20th and Saturday, March 21st.  You can join us for one or both days and it's sure to be a great time.  Seats are limited so register today and don't delay!

We hope to see you in the shop, until then, May Your Bobbin Always Be Full!

Heritage Sampler Web Block of the Month
"Heritage Sampler"
2015's Web Sampler

Welcome to our 2015 Internet Block-of-the-Month Program. This is our gift to you for being such a loyal reader of our "As the Bobbin Winds" newsletter. As you know, the sampler block patterns for this quilt are only made available to the loyal readers of the "As the Bobbin Winds" Email newsletter.
Over the 12-month course, you will receive directions on how to construct (12) different  blocks. They will start out easy and work their way up in difficulty as we progress throughout the year. In the last month, you will receive the directions for the final layout and finishing of this beautiful Web Sampler Quilt.
This particular project has been designed to be scrappy in nature, however, if you would like to purchase fabric to make yours, we have included suggested yardage with the first block pattern. We made our sample using batiks, but it would be beautiful and exciting to see it made up in any line of your choice...Kansas Troubles, Jo Mortons, or just some vibrant tonals would be lovely. Let your imagination be your guide. It will be sensational, no matter what fabric you choose.
