Country Traditions is a premier quilting and sewing shop, proudly nestled in Fremont, Nebraska’s Historic Downtown District. From it’s small start-up in 1998, Country Traditions has grown and expanded, welcoming visitors from around the world. When you step inside our turn-of-the-century building you will find over 7,000 bolts of fabric, numerous books/patterns, notions and home décor items spread throughout 12,000 square foot of historical building. Our store boosts 14 foot ceilings, original wood flooring, exposed ceiling beams and antique light fixtures suspended from a partial tin ceiling. In 2005 Country Traditions was selected as one of the Top 10 Quilt Shops in the Spring 2005 issue of Quilt Sampler. Then in 2007 we were selected as one of the Best of the Best by Better Homes and Garden’ American Patchwork and Quilting Magazine. And was truly honored in 2012, to be selected as the Encore Shop for the 2012 Spring Quilt Sampler issue.
Country Traditions carries over 7,000 bolts of the latest and hottest fabrics from like Andover, Blank, Moda, P&B, Hoffman, Island Batiks, Northcoth, Quilting Treasures, to Willington Fabrics and beyond. Like many quilters, we enjoy a variety of styles from Country & Primitive to Bright & Bold to Contemporary and Modern. Throughout the shop you will find a large variety of inspiring samples that show off a variety of new fabrics, books/patterns, and techniques. Pull up a chair and spend some time looking through our large selection of books and patterns or stop by one of our many demo boards and try out a new technique. Every Quilting notion is tested by our staff for effectiveness and usefulness. Country Traditions Staff attend a weekly product training session to ensure their abilities to help quests find the right notion for their current project. If you see a product you would like to learn more about just ask one of our many staff members and they would be more than happy to give you a demo.
For those of you who rather leave the quilting to others or the individual who likes already made gifts, Country Traditions offers a full line of gifts, crafts, and home décor items, along with a variety of sewing related ornaments and decoration that are always in stock. Our large selection of seasonal decorations are always changing and sure to get you in the holiday spirit. If you would like to treat your guests with a gourmet appetizer be sure to see our selection of Wind & Willow cheese and dessert mixes. For the collectors, we are also an official Willraye Collectors Center Store, carry Jim Shore’s Heart Creek Collection from Enesco, and proudly stock the Willow Tree Collection of Susan Lordi of Demdaco.
Stop by our Creative Center and take one of our Handi Quilters Long arm Quilting machines on a quilting adventure and/or Test drive one of our fabulous Brother or Pfaff Sewing machines. In 2004 we became an authorized Handi Quilter Dealer representing the Midwest quilters with all their long arm needs, carrying a large selection of long arm accessories, pantographs and wide backs. If you are new to long arm quilting and want to learn new techniques sign up for one of our many long arm techniques classes, we offer. In 2007 with our move to a larger location we became a Supreme Pfaff Dealer, carrying the full line of Pfaff Sergers, Sewing Machines, and Embroidery Machines. In 2015 the Brother Machine line joined our family of Sewing and Embroidery Machines. Bringing us the Magic of Disney and wonder of Brother’s Technology into our Creative Center. As a commitment to providing the best customer care, support, and education to our machine owner, the Creative Center team consists of several dedicated educational team members and two certified, in house Technicians. Creative Center Team members attend weekly training sessions on the shop’s machine line up, as well as attend industry related conferences and training.
