As quilters, we have a part of us that want to comfort as many people as we can.  Most of the time, we are happy with giving a newborn baby their first quilt, a t-shirt quilt for a graduate dorm room or a newlywed couple a quilt for their new home together.  This past year, we were able to bring thousand of quilters together to comfort our Veterans, through the Quilts of Valor foundation.

Country Traditions is honored to be involved in the Quilts of Valor Foundation since 2011.  Quilts of Valor foundation is an organization that strive to cover veteran one quilt at a time.  Throughout the past four years Country Traditions has been proud supporter of Quilts of Valor!  The store hosted a Under our Wings sewing event, which was part of a documentary for the Iowa Public Broadcasting.  During the event store paired a "rookie" quilter with a more experience "coach" quilter to piece and quilt beautiful quilts.  We completed and presented 22 quilts during that event.  Country Traditions has continued their support with Quilt of Valor by holding sewing retreats and collecting money during Community Days during the past year.
